Touchdown! Host a Winning Super Bowl Bash - Greater Austin Moms

I love a good football game, but to be honest, unless the Cowboys or the Longhorns are playin’, I’m there for the atmosphere! I am convinced you can be the best hostess on the block and save your sanity by keeping it simple with the essential elements of a great party- games, food and your favorite people.

Below are some of my favorite ideas for Super Bowl Sunday with friends and family.

Games

Touch football (pregame or halftime fun)

Super Bowl Commercial Bingo
– here are the companies who shelled out the big bucks for advertising space during the
biggest game of the year: Chance the Rapper, Back Street Boys, Olay, Bumble, Devour, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Avocados from Mexico, Kia, Bud Light, Audi, Bubly, Burger King, Colgate, Doritos, Expensify, Hyundai, M&Ms, Mercedes-Benz, Pepsi, Persil, Planters, Pringles, SimpliSafe, RAV4, Turbo Tax, Turkish Airlines, Verizon, Weather Tech,  Free Space. Fill them in to a Bingo Card Generator for friendly competition to fill those frequent commercial breaks.

Hula Hoop Football Toss– Hang a Hula Hoop and challenge kids to throw a soft football through the hoop from different distances!

Decor

Hire a local photo booth vendor or print out your own props to style your guests for fun pics that will capture the memories of the day. I love these from www.sportsmomsurvivalguide.com.

Style a classy bar cart in colors that reveal who you are cheering for. If you’re feeling neutral, why not style it as a Patriots vs. Rams cart with opposing colors on each half of the cart? Use this previous blog post for inspiration!

Food

Let the men have their beer and Doritos if they must, but I think we can bring some very simple additions to our menus that will bring the level of class up a notch. Everyone will appreciate that you have taken it to the next level without knowing simple it was with these ideas.

Super Bowl Themed Root Beer Floats. Satisfy every sweet tooth in the house with these, and you don’t have to be crafty to make these cute. Spoiler alert: there’s an adult version too!

Fruit Tray with Chocolate Hummus (available at H-E-B near the other hummus) and Cream Cheese Dip (this one from All Recipes has 5 star reviews!)

Little Smokies with barbeque sauce- Follow this recipe from The Salty Marshmallow and you can put these in the crockpot hours before your party. They won’t last long after your guests arrive!

Also on the blog now, these Super Bowl Dips from Beet Hummus to Kale Guacamole by The Local Moms Network regular contributor, Anna Gass.

An Extra Touch

What about party favors? If you’ve got kids at your party, they’ll know you’re glad they came if you have al little something to give them on their way out the door. I found these foam footballs on Amazon this week:
