I like to think of myself as an intentional buyer. I do love convenience but more importantly I want to know that my
family is making a minimal footprint on this beautiful earth we have stewardship over, that the products we are consuming in and on our bodies are contributing to our well being, and my favorite: that my purchases can make a lasting impact on someone somewhere in the world. This is another one of those areas that I have wished someone would just hand me a list of the healthiest most ethical companies and save me some time! Well, after years of searching for that list and lots of research I’ve got a few faves of my own I’d love to share with you.
For us, this journey started around 5 years ago when I started learning the dangers of parabens and I made a goal to be a paraben free household in a year. I couldn’t financially justify throwing out all the products we’d been using and start over so I began with one product at a time. As one product ran out I’d buy more intentionally the next time, looking for products that fit the new standard AND were affordable.
