Meet Jessica - Greater Austin Moms

Meet Jessica Miles, recent transplant to Dripping Springs, this mom jumped right in, gathered other moms and began building community that supports and encourages one another and has a lot of fun!

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I was born and raised in South Texas. I grew up in Portland, TX (a small town outside of
Corpus Christi). I met my husband there in high school. I have lived in Dripping Springs for 9
months now.

Well, welcome to Austin! I have loved seeing all of your posts since arriving here. Tell me about your kids!

I have 4 boys! Jackson- 7, James-6, Luke- 4, Landon- 2

What is your favorite thing about living in Dripping Springs so far?

I love all of the outdoor options. After living a year in Sonoma County, we fell in love with
wineries and being outside. I love having kid friendly wineries and distilleries down the street
from us!

What do you love to do with your family around town?

We love to explore a new kid friendly place to eat. I love how so many of the places have
playgrounds for the kids. We also love checking out the wineries and relaxing at Treaty Oaks.

Do you have any favorite kid friendly places you’ve discovered?

Yes, Hat Creek and Austin Java.  We also love Duchman Winery.

Tell us about your business and how it came to be, how you got started and what you love about it.

I just recently opened up Baby Boot Camp South Austin. I selfishly opened it up because I was
missing my own tribe of baby boot camp moms in Houston and California. I have been apart of
the Baby Boot Camp community for the past 6 years and the thought of not raising my younger
two boys in a community like that made me sad. I decided to open up a location where I was
living in hopes to encourage other moms to get out, exercise and meet new mom friends. I
know first hand how life-saving Baby Boot Camp was for me when I was battling post partum depression
with my first son. Exercise and a reason to get out of the house every day got me through a
tough time and I can only home to bring that to other moms! Finding a community is hard, but
so needed as a mom. It can be lonely at times!

Are you involved in anything else within the community?

I am involved at my older boys Elementary school and love volunteering when I can. I
also am apart of a MOMS group at Austin Ridge and a MOPS group at Austin Oaks.
My husband and I attend a couples bible study at our church. Our boys sports
schedules fill in any other free time we may have!

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

I love the “mompreneur” inspiration and support that I have found in this area. All sorts of moms
with businesses have reached out to me asking how they can help support and empower me
while I start this new franchise in the South Austin area.
