Meet Aubrey - Greater Austin Moms

Aubrey Williamson is the mom behind Austintatious Living, bringing us 5 fun things to do in Austin each week, great date night ideas, and a blossoming real estate business! Read on to learn about how she got started, her adorable little boy and very unique anniversary date(s).

Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in town?

I wasn’t born in Austin but I got here as quickly as I could!  I’ve actually lived in Austin since I was just about 5 years old and my family moved from Utah for my dad’s job.  I did go back to Utah for college and then after graduating, married my husband who at the time was stationed in North Carolina with the Army.  Shortly after we got married we were moved to the Seattle area where we stayed for a little over three years. Now we are back home in Austin and couldn’t be more excited about planting our roots here, South Austin/Dripping Springs will always be our home!

Child(ren) and Age(s)?

I have one child, his name is Beau and he just turned 8 months old!  He is my entire world and is getting more and more fun everyday. He’s got the cutest red hair that sticks straight up, everywhere we go people want to touch his head.  Being his mom has been the most rewarding and exhausting experience I’ve ever had. I live for that little boy’s smile!

What is your favorite thing about living here?

The weather definitely tops the list for me.  I love how even during the winter we can have random days of 80 degrees and sun!  The extreme summer heat doesn’t bother me too much since Austin has so many awesome swimming holes (another one of my favorite things).  Honestly, it is just so beautiful here. The hill country will forever have my heart!

What do you love to do with your family around town?

I love to go hiking with my family, there are so many trails and beautiful spots outdoors I want to hike them all!  Oh and I would be a complete liar if I didn’t say eating…Austin has some of the best restaurants and my family is all about taking advantage of that!

Tell us about Austinatious Living and how it came to be, what you love about it, what makes it unique, what your goal is, etc…

Austintatious Living began as a way for me to keep myself accountable for getting out and actually doing fun things with my family and in the community.  It is so easy to get wrapped up in everyday life that you forget to experience what makes your city so unique and fun! I love being able to share my favorite things and inspire others to get out and actually LIVE where they live!  I am so grateful for the growth my little online community has had and am so excited for where the future will take us. I’ve got some fun ideas in the works right now that I can’t wait to share!

One thing I will share that am in the process of, is starting my own Austin real estate business.  I worked in real estate in Seattle and since moving back to Austin I am teaming up with my own mom, who has been selling homes in Austin for nearly 20 years!  She’s actually the one who inspired the idea for Austintatious Living, since when we first moved to Austin she created a bucket list of all sorts of things for our family to do and together we all would go out and try new things and visit new places, which really had a huge positive impact on my childhood.  I’ve had so many people reaching out to me lately who are considering moving to Austin, or asking for my recommendations so I decided along with my family oriented blog I would offer professional real estate services for those interested.

Are you involved in anything else within the community?

I am!  I am a member of the Junior League of Austin and was on the A Christmas Affair committee this year, which we actually just wrapped up about a week ago after a successful event.

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?

Austin is such a great place to live and be inspired in.  The community is so friendly and welcoming to entrepreneurs and creatives, there is always something new to learn or somebody to learn from!

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…

I have been married three times…to the same man!  Let me explain. We first got married very quickly due to military circumstances and an upcoming move – we did a quick courthouse-like ceremony in North Carolina and then planned our big “wedding” back in Austin for that next summer, and a year or so after that we were able to do a very special religious ceremony in the Salt Lake Temple in Utah.  People always ask me which anniversary we celebrate…All of them, of course! 😉
