This week’s Meet-A-Mom Feature is Erin Foreman, the new managing editor for South Austin Moms! Read more information about her below!

Tell us about yourself!

Hi everyone! My name is Erin, and I have lived in Austin since 2019. My two brothers and I grew up in Plano. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2014 with a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I earned my teaching certificate in that time as well. We moved to North Houston where my first son was born in 2016. When my husband’s company transferred headquarters to Austin in 2019, we moved here! I enjoy cooking, baking, reading, writing, and going on adventures. When it comes to sweets, I never shy away from chocolate, especially sea salt dark chocolate and ice cream. I like to start my day with coffee and end my day with wine. I am a proud Christian who loves meeting new people, catching up with friends, and spending time with the ones I love most.

Tell us about your family!

My husband’s name is Kevin and we have been married for 6 years. He works for Nutrabolt, popularly known for their C4 pre-workout. We met and began dating 11 years ago while each working toward our degrees at Texas A&M University. We have three sons: Foster is 5 years old, Beckett is 3 years old, and Cameron is 6 months old. We also have a fluffy cat named Sully and a Goldendoodle puppy named Penny. Our hearts and our house are very full!

Why did you decide to take over this platform, continuing South Austin Moms and bringing The Local Moms Network to your town?

When we first moved to North Houston, I was pregnant and searching for doctors, parks, schools, libraries, and family-friendly activities. I remember feeling so overwhelmed by the city and wishing I had an easier way to navigate it all. Now, as I search for those same things in South Austin, I can share that information with other moms, making their lives easier and saving them time.

Must-try restaurants, with and without kids:

Our family loves pizza! I usually order the Mary Ann’s gluten free pizza from Mangieri’s Pizza Café, and it is SO good. We are also big fans of Waterloo Ice House. Sitting on the back porch and catching up while the kids play on the playscape in the back is a little slice of heaven. Plus, their burgers and sweet potato fries are delicious! Because we have three kids under 5, any restaurant without kids is a treat! One of our favorites is Matt’s El Rancho.

Go-to drink spot:

I love the margaritas at District Kitchen + Cocktails. I went wine tasting in Wimberly Valley for my bachelorette party, and it was beautiful! I’d love to go back.

Place you love to get coffee:

After our neighbor introduced us to Summer Moon Coffee, it’s been hard to go anywhere else! Getting three little ones in and out of car seats can be a pain, so I’m all for a good drive-thru service. I usually order a coconutmilk latte.

Is there anything you want to say to our readers?

This opportunity to bring resources to our community is one that I am blessed to have. I’m so thankful for all of you and for this platform. Thank you for allowing me the chance to introduce myself. If you see me and my family around town, please come say hello!
