Just as the weather was really started warming up I needed to make a quick run to Old Navy. Two weeks before school’s out my son splits the seat of 2 remaining pairs of shorts! We almost made it. *sigh* On my way to the register a wall of simple tank tops caught my eye. Thankfully, I was able to find uniform pieces in May, and at the check out counter I placed a “celestial peach” top on the pile of new uniform shorts.
Weeellll, because my son wasn’t with me, I bought more than one size so he could try on at home. Boy has grown! The next afternoon I headed back to the store to return the pair that didn’t fit. Hear me when I say: I am not normally an impulse buyer, especially not for myself. I have a rule that I have to walk away, and if I can’t stop thinking about ____ (fill in the blank) for 3 days then I’ll sometimes go back and buy it. That rule has kept me from a lot of buyer’s remorse over the years, but that particular Saturday I didn’t think twice about swooping right by that wall and picking up two more tanks.
I realized that with 3 basic tanks I can layer, or not, to get 9 different looks to wear with skirts, jeans, or shorts all summer long. So if you see me out and about, you’ll find me in one (or two!) of these comfy mom staples more often than not!
